The Jackson Community Center of the Parramore neighborhood has become home to one of Orlando’s newest Farmers Markets, open every Saturday from 10am to 2pm! As part of the USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program Grant received by the city of Orlando, the Parramore Farmers Market aims to increase access to fresh, healthy produce for residents while providing a platform for locals to practice entrepreneurship and grow their business or organization right within their neighborhood. Upon visiting, one can expect to find vendors selling locally produce, hand-crafted artisanal goods, and the occasional chess tournament held by the Orlando Chess and Checkers Club. This Farmers Market also features a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) booth where patrons may use their EBT cards to receive tokens to spend in the market.
